Who can usually get a personal loan
A general guide. Each lender has its own rules, and we check them for you.
- Salaried, working for a company or the government
- Aged about 21 to 58
- Take-home salary of ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 a month or more, paid into a bank account
- About a year of work experience, 6 months or more with your current employer
- Existing EMIs under about half of your take-home pay
- A credit score of 700 or more gets the best rates; first-time borrowers can still qualify with some lenders
Keep these handy
You don't need them to check your offers. After you apply, our team collects them and submits them to the lender with your application.
- PAN card
- Aadhaar, passport, voter ID or driving licence for ID and address
- Last 3 months' salary slips
- Last 3 to 6 months' salary account statement
- Employee ID or offer letter, if asked
Will this affect my credit score?
Checking your offers on Rupiyalo starts with the details you give us. When you apply, the lender checks your credit report. Applying to many lenders at once can lower your score, which is why we show the offers you are most likely to get first.
Stay safe
Rupiyalo and our lending partners will never ask you to pay anything before your loan is paid out, and loan money only ever goes into your own bank account. If anyone asks you for money in our name, don't pay. Tell our grievance officer.
Questions people ask
Is Rupiyalo a lender?
No. Rupiyalo is a loan marketplace and lending service provider. Your loan comes from the RBI-regulated bank or NBFC named on your offer, which makes the final decision and sets the final terms.
Does checking my offers affect my credit score?
Checking starts with the details you give us. When you apply, the lender checks your credit report. Applying to many lenders in a short time can lower your score, so we show the offers you are most likely to get first.
Do I pay Rupiyalo anything?
No. Our lending partners pay us. Lenders may charge a processing fee, which we show on every offer. If anyone asks you for money on Rupiyalo's behalf, don't pay.
Who sees my details?
Only the lender you choose to apply with, after you agree. You can see who has your details, and withdraw consent, on the My data page.
What interest rate will I get?
It depends on your salary, employer, credit history and loan amount. Each offer shows the lender's rate range, and the lender confirms your final rate in its Key Fact Statement.
How much can I borrow, and for how long?
It depends on your income and existing EMIs. Our partners' current ranges are shown in the rates table above, and each offer shows the most you are likely to get.
What documents do I need?
None to check your offers. After you apply, our team collects your PAN, ID and address proof, recent salary slips and bank statements, and submits them to the lender, which checks them.
How do you decide which offer comes first?
Offers you are most likely to get come first, then the lowest interest rate, then the lowest fee. Our full ranking method is published on the How we rank offers page.
How fast will I get the money?
The lender decides and pays the loan straight into your bank account. Rupiyalo never handles your loan money. Timing varies by lender once your documents are verified.
How do I raise a complaint?
Contact our Grievance Redressal Officer (details at the bottom of every page). If your complaint is not resolved within 30 days, you can approach the RBI through its Complaint Management System.
